HOPE

HOPE

There was a sparrow then it died
That darkness now is creeping deep
And what was gold is merely cheap
And glory has its face to hide

The eldest tree cut it self down
And we were watching saying "How
Do roots betray their only vow
To live beneath her holy crown?

There has to be a bright horizon
We don't believe in our fears
Though butterflies don't know our fields
The smell of jasmine is within
